Howard is the founder of Nuuvo-B2E – a “Recruitment strategist” with 20+ years in the field. He is passionate about all things “Branding” and “the candidate experience”, and believes that the most successful recruitment programs are those that not only identify and select the best talent, but also demonstrate consideration for the people they seek – it says something about an organization’s attitude towards people in general.

Employer branding was a relatively unknown concept when the organization Howard founded in 1989, RecruitAd Advertising, started to evangelize it and developed a reputation for excellence in the field. Today, Employer Branding has become one of the most important pillars of any organization’s recruitment strategy.  

With Nuvvo-B2E as a platform, Howard continues to seek ways for organizations to pursue excellence in their recruitment practices – with overall goals of increasing efficiency, driving candidate engagement and improving hiring quality.

Howard’s knowledge of recruitment, marketing and branding will provide Nuuvo-B2E clients with a unique blend of expertise, experience and perspective in these areas. Dennis Purdon

Dennis Purdon

Engagement Specialist

Hailing from Bragg Creek, Alberta, a short distance from Calgary, Dennis has 20+ years’ experience in communications, human resources and leadership, and offers a unique perspective on organizational effectiveness and behaviour. He also has extensive knowledge of the necessary tools to effect change, with a particular focus on talent acquisition and engagement strategies. Dennis is now excited to offer these competencies to Nuuvo-B2E clients, wherever they may be.

Dennis and Howard’s business relationship started in 1999 when Dennis joined RecruitAd as Western Canada practice leader, a role he continued when the firm rebranded as OriginHR, and where he also led the Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) and Managed Vendor Services (MVS) lines of business after the 2008 acquisition of OriginHR’s parent by the Randstad Group of Companies. In 2010, Dennis founded BrickhouseHR with the mandate to help drive organizational and employee success through improved engagement, facilitated through practical and innovative HR communications tools and strategies. His goal is to enable his clients to communicate effectively and consistently with their talent communities.

In addition to his experience in HR communications and employer branding disciplines, Dennis offers expertise in media services and recruitment process optimization, as well as internal communications to facilitate employee engagement, compensation and/or organizational development.

Over the years, Dennis has been a guest lecturer and featured writer for professional groups such as the Human Resources Institute of Alberta, the Calgary Human Resources Association, Mount Royal University and the Human Resources Association of Canadian Engineers.

Mazen Tannir

Media Expert

Mazen started his advertising career over 20 years ago with DDB and EURO RSCG .  He became the Marketing and Communications Manager for Alcatel mobile Phones, managing the Middle East, Africa and South East Asia, which gave him more fly-time than the average flight attendant. He left the company after preparing the brand for the transition into the company’s merger with TCL in China.

Maz immigrated to Canada In 2005 and used his knowledge and experience to establish a media buying and International marketing consultancy. His first client was Howard’s firm, where they worked on international recruitment advertising campaigns in several international markets for RecruitAd clients. Mazen recently served as the resident media expert for a Toronto-based advertising agency, which provided him with more in-depth knowledge of the Canadian market.

Which brings us to today, where Maz has recently founded and currently operates and manages Aligned Communications, an accredited media solutions agency established to create tailored solutions for recruitment advertising as well as domestic and international media placements.

Maz and Aligned Communications are proud  partners, providing Nuuvo-B2E clients with traditional and digital media buying and placement expertise, both domestically and abroad. Where media placements are required in international markets, Mazen’s knowledgeable attention will not only ensure the best negotiated media rates, but will provide Nuuvo-B2E clients with expert, interpretative translations and cultural accuracy for foreign markets.

Jeff is a partner and contributor, and provides Nuuvo-B2E clients with Social HR guidance and solutions – critical employer branding components and necessary parts of any talent acquisition  strategy. Jeff`s expertise will be available when an insightful social recruiting implementation or enhancement is in need.

Jeff is the founder of Stratify, a social HR solutions company, and SocialHRCamp, an experiential learning HR “unconference” that has run events in Canada, United States, Singapore and Philippines.  His diverse career spans all facets of HR and he has led the way in a growing niche that brings together HR, social media, marketing and business.

Jeff is also an avid speaker, blogger and has provided his expertise pro-bono to universities, colleges, not-for-profits, business start-ups and HR conferences, including the SHRM Annual Conference & Exposition.  He also served as a judge for the Achievers 2013 Top 50 Most Engaged Workplaces Awards, and was named one of the Top 100 Most Social Human Resources Experts on Twitter in 2013 by the Huffington Post.

When not working on a new idea, running an event, networking, speaking with business students or playing sports, he can be found with his wife and three young boys in North Toronto.
